Project Spotlight: Lexus Ilkley Open a WTA & ATP Event

We were thrilled to play a part in this year’s Lexus Ilkley Open, supplying three stunning structures for the prestigious event hosted by Ilkley Lawn Tennis & Squash Club.

Our team provided:

  •  A stylish VIP bar (2.5m x 10m) where guests could relax and enjoy the action in comfort.
  • Two retail spaces (each 7.5m x 5m), one featuring an external staircase leading to a roof terrace – the perfect spot for an elevated experience.

It was a pleasure collaborating with the team at Ilkley Lawn Tennis & Squash Club to help create memorable spaces for players, partners, and guests throughout the tournament.

A huge thank you to everyone involved for making this project such a success, and especially to the club for choosing us to bring their vision to life.

“Worldwide Structures delivered exceptional support for the Lexus Ilkley Open 2025, providing high-quality event structures that significantly enhanced the aesthetic and professional presentation of the tournament. Their team demonstrated outstanding professionalism, efficiency, and attention to detail throughout the planning and delivery process. Their collaborative approach and reliable execution ensured a seamless experience and contributed greatly to the overall success of the event. We highly value our partnership with Worldwide Structures and would confidently recommend their services. They offered flexibility and open dialogue to ensure our needs were met.”

– Chris Harrison, General Manager – Ilkley Lawn Tennis & Squash Club

Winter-Ready Spaces for Events and Dining

As the colder months approach, many venues are looking to make the most of their space – from festive dining extensions to seasonal party venues. Our customisable structures are perfect for creating extra room, whether it’s for Christmas bookings, private parties, or corporate events.

We work closely with trusted third-party suppliers to ensure your temporary spaces stay warm and comfortable throughout the winter, with heating solutions tailored to your needs. Unlike traditional tents or marquees, our load-bearing roofs can handle snow with ease, so your guests can enjoy the season in comfort and safety.

Whether it’s adding extra dining space or creating a fully decked-out winter venue, we can help bring your ideas to life, whatever the weather.

Meet Our Managing Director

A quick Q&A with James Coyle – from his favourite projects to the quirks that keep the day interesting.

Q: What attracted you to Worldwide Structures Ltd, and what are you most excited about in this new role?

A: “I’d done 21 years in my previous company, working through several different roles, so I felt like I wanted to do something completely different! The directors had a great appetite for growth, which really appealed to me… and of course, the team…”

(He’s already winning points with that last line!)

Q: How would you describe your personality in three words?

A: “Determined. Adventurous. Friendly.”

(Later described himself as “boring” – we’ll let you decide!)

Q: What’s your favourite project you’ve ever worked on, and why?

A: “Clash on the Dunes, 2019 – Anthony Joshua vs Ruiz Jr II.
A favourite because we built a whole venue from start to finish in 60 days. It started as desert and ended with a 15,000-seat stadium and triple-storey hospitality. First time working in Saudi Arabia too — that was exciting!”

(From sand dunes to stadiums – no big deal.)

Q: What’s your biggest office pet peeve — the little things that make you go “ugh”?

A: “People talking in the background when you’re on a call… any call…”

(Noise-cancelling headphones: James’ new best friend.)

Q: If a client spent the whole day with you, what do you think would surprise them most?

A: “That I do some work between meetings, emails, and pretending to understand everyone’s spreadsheets.”

(Proof that pretending can be a full-time job.)

Q: Do you have a go-to karaoke song or guilty pleasure TV show?

A: “You’ll never catch me doing karaoke, I wouldn’t expose anyone to that punishment… but I’ve been known to sing Bryan Adams’ Summer of ’69.
TV show? Friends – it’s the only right answer!”

(We expect a rendition of “Smelly Cat” at the next team party.)

Q: What’s one thing about our team that clients might not see, but makes all the difference behind the scenes?

A: “The efficiency of each member – everyone knows exactly what their role is and how to execute it. Not much direction is needed because they all know what to do – like a well-oiled machine!”

(Translation: teamwork makes the dream work.)

Q: If there’s one message you’d like our clients to take away from this Q&A, what would it be?

A: “Although we all enjoy having a bit of fun like this, you can be sure you’ll always have a serious and dedicated team if you ever work with us professionally.”

(A perfect note to end on – professional, passionate, and proud of the team.)
